Living a Balanced Life

A good balance to the person who might take this teaching of zeal to an unhealthy extreme: One of the biggest problems in ministry today is overcommitment and resulting fatigue. Super successful coach Vince Lombardi, of the Green Bay Packers, once said that fatigue makes cowards of us all. Croc starts McDonalds

Roy Croc sold paper cups and played the piano part time to support his family in the early 20's. He became the Lily Tulip Cup Company's top salesman after 17 years, but decided to strike out on his own in the milk shake business. One day he heard of some guys using his machines to produce 40 shakes at a time. He went to investigate and found the McDonald brothers successfully using an assembly line to cook and serve burgers, fries and shakes. He recommended starting a chain, but the McDonald brothers thought it would be too much trouble. But Croc convinced them to let him go for it, and at 52 years old started the McDonald's chain, which he built into a billion dollar business in only 22 years! Think you're over the hill, too old for God to use you? Think it's too late in life to learn new ministry skills? Next time you see those golden arches, remember Roy Croc. ?
