Diagnostic Questions

These diagnostic questions have been used widely to help clarify whether a person understands the gospel or not: 1. Suppose that you were to die tonight and stand before God and He were to say to you, "Why should I let you into my heaven?" What would you say? 2. Have you come to the point in your spiritual life that you know for certain that if you were to die today that you would go to heaven.

Turner on Gospel

TV mogul Ted Turner was quoted in WORLD (11/11) as saying, "Christianity is a religion for losers. I don't want anybody to die for me. I've had a few drinks and a few girlfriends, and if that's gonna put me in hell, then so be it." (Found in Youthworker Update, 1/90)

Importance of Baptism

In some countries, where Christianity is not an established religion, baptism is a very significant step. In one Muslim country, a mother discovered that her daughter, a young believer, had been reading the Bible. She told her daughter, "If you're ever baptized, I'll commit suicide." You see, in many countries baptism is a very significant event which symbolizes a believer's break from the old and profession of their faith in Jesus. A privately practiced Christianity may be tolerated. But baptism signals a "point of no return," when some converts face banishment from their homes, their families, and sometimes the loss of their very lives. ? If Forbes Could Have Anything

Multi-Millionaire Malcomb Forbes was asked on the Joan Rivers Show, "If you could have anything you want, what would it be?" Without hesitation he answered, "I would ask for eternal life."

Our Greatest Need

If our greatest need had been information, God would have sent us an educator. If our greatest need had been technology, God would have sent us a scientist. If our greatest need had been money, God would have sent us an economist. If our greatest need had been pleasure, God would have sent us an entertainer. But our greatest need was forgiveness, So God sent us a Savior. (Found in Christmas card)

Sit in the Chair

I can look at this chair (show them a chair) and believe that it will hold me up. But it's not until I actually sit in the chair that I express my faith in it. In the same way, it's not enough to believe that God and Jesus exist, you must place your faith in Jesus for your salvation.
